Brain soothing strawberries!

So this blog post has come about as a result of an entire day, slash, maybe the last 4 months, of degree-loathing.
A loathing of reading articles and books, that to be quite honest I really have very little interest in.
I had a moment today (also potentially known as near insanity), where I decided that instead of the mind-numbingly dull articles I was supposed to be reading, I needed to leave the house and do something a little more creative.

Something that wasn't killing off every creative cell left in my brain.

Something like writing. Something like eating. Something like writing about eating.

What would you eat to soothe your brain from the mundane facts of the language of securitisation? (I am still unaware as to what this language is, however this is besides the point)

Healthy Candy Bars... say whaaaat?!

Remember me telling you about Gwyneth Paltrow's cook book? Well I had another little experimentation with it the other day with my best friend Carlotta, remember her from a day out to Kew Gardens?

Well having been on holiday for a couple of weeks I decided it was probably time to start being healthy again and with a massive craving for something sweet this was not proving to be particularly easy, that was until I stumbled across this little beauty of a recipe, for healthy candy bars. A healthy candy bar?! Surely that kind of treat is too good to be true you may be thinking. But I assure you it is, and look no further than this little list of ingredients;

Soy Berry Froyo!

And the detox continued...

I absolutely adore frozen yoghurt, it's quite simply one the best culinary inventions. And after a few very intense hours of sunbathing after lunch Sophie and I (yes that's right she's still here) were craving something cold to cool us down from the surprisingly warm English weather.

And seeing as my parents have not yet invested in a swimming pool, despite my insistence of it's necessity. I thought why not cool ourselves down with the second best thing to a pool.. Froyo!

However being in Surrey the nearest Snog or Pinkberry is not just conveniently round the corner as it is in London so we made our own. And a healthy version as well!

It's very simple, all you need is frozen fruit, soya yoghurt and maple syrup (if you want it especially sweet).

Detox Day in the Sunshine!

As you may have noticed by now I really enjoy cooking, and recently my mum decided to buy me Gwyneth Paltrow's new cook book.

Gwyneth Paltrow cooks?! Yes that's right apparently she does and she's kindly decided to share with the public how she's kept her figure looking as incredible as it does.

Father's Day Treat

Like me, my dad's choice of dessert is always anything revolving around toffee, caramel or treacle. (And the occasional bit of chocolate). And seeing as it was Father's Day yesterday my sister and I decided to demonstrate what wonderful daughters we are and make him his favourite dessert - Treacle Tart.

Cake Pops!

As it appears that in Surrey there is nothing really to do but cook, I decided to help my sister, Georgia, make some Cake Pops.

What are Cake Pops?

They're the new craze in the baking world, and I can definitely see why. They are basically minature balls of cake on a lolly pop stick, coated in pretty much whatever you want and they are amazing!

Healthy Flapjacks

I decided to come home for the weekend, home being just outside London in Surrey.
Having finished all my work and exams for the year I was at a loss with what to fill a day in the country with, whilst sunbathing was a tempting option I soon got bored and decided to be creative and bake something yummy.

In a bid to maintain my 'Summer Body Diet' i thought I better come up with something I could justify eating quite a few of, whilst also satisfying my sweet tooth. That's where my Quinoa, Cinnamon and Raisin Flapjacks came in.
